Toasty - 21-05-070

Female Cat aged 3 years.

Toasty is a beautiful lilac-point Siamese spayed female mix with blue eyes, white on her feet, and amazingly long whiskers. She is a very affectionate, laid back adult who is looking for lots of attention, love and regular brushing. Toasty is an awesome cat that needs a new forever home.

Toasty was born September of 2020 and came into ACAT's care as a pregnant teen in the spring of 2021. Her first adopter returned her to ACAT after the owner’s terminal cancer diagnosis in late 2021. She was adopted again shortly thereafter, but two years later has once more come back into our care. Most recently Toasty was surrendered by her last owner to Anchorage Animal Care and Control due to her owner having medical conditions which prevent them from continuing to care for her. Toasty is, thankfully, microchipped and because of that microchip ACAT was contacted when she was surrendered to AACC. We retrieved her immediately and she has been in a foster home with lots of love since then.

Because Toasty was surrendered to AACC her recent history is unknown. When she was first brought in to ACAT from AACC she had a fever and wasn’t eating well. She was also a little “shakey.” She has since received antibiotics and had bloodwork done. Her fever resolved and her blood tests were normal. Her appetite has improved, although she is a picky eater. Toasty does still have a slight tremor which gets worse when she is stressed. Overall she does not seem to be negatively impacted by the tremor and the veterinarian who evaluated her was not able to find a clear cause for it. She is a very friendly, affectionate cat. She absolutely loves to walk all over you and demands her pets. She is happy to also serve as your personal alarm clock in the morning. She is generally quiet, except for during car rides, but even then she has a soft meow.

Toasty does not get along with other cats. Several attempts to introduce her to other cats in her foster home have not gone smoothly. We strongly recommend she be the only cat in a home. Toasty has not been exposed to dogs so we do not know how she would do with them. Any introductions to a dog would need to be taken very slowly.

Toasty has been spayed, dewormed and received her vaccinations including rabies shot. She is also microchipped and leukemia tested negative.
