Daphne - 23-06-105

Female Cat aged Teen.

Daphne, born around May 7, 2023 came to ACAT as a very scared kitten in July. She is still shy but has made excellent progress. She and her three siblings, the Scooby Gang, have settled nicely in their foster home and have been looking for their forever homes.

Daphne has not made as much progress as her siblings, even after all this time. She currently hides from strangers. Daphne is very interested in the people and kitties around her and wants very much to be friends, but is still very shy and uncertain. She startles easily and will often jump down unexpectedly when being held. She has begun to seek more attention from her foster family. She will come up on the bed and happily accept pets. She has an awesome purr. She has gotten confident enough to choose to touch my nose with hers. She wants very much to be loved, but is still wary because of how busy the house is. I believe once she is in a quieter environment than this home she will grow in confidence and come the rest of the way out of her shell. She is a gorgeous solid gray kitty with pretty green eyes.

If you have experienced the rewards of bonding with a shy cat before, you will know she has so much potential for love. She is very close to her sister, Velma, who though also shy, is more outgoing than Daphne. And while they no longer look like kittens, they still have awesome energy and hopefully a long healthy life ahead of them. Daphne knows her name and while she won’t normally come to it, she does respond. She is very quiet and always watchful. I would love to see her go to a home with Velma where they can be each other’s companions and grow in confidence with a loving family. Not a good fit for young children, but they do live with three respectful teenagers.

Daphne has been dewormed and has received her kitten and rabies vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped and feline leukemia tested negative.
